Practice Focus
Mr. Wohl is Of Counsel to Palmer Kanzajian Wohl Perkins, LLP. For more than 40 years Mr. Wohl has practiced before federal, California and Nevada trial and appellate courts. Having completed more than 100 jury trials, the California Trial Lawyers Association has certified Mr. Wohl as an “Experienced Trial Lawyer” and an “Experienced Insurance Bad Faith Trial Attorney.”
Mr. Wohl has successfully represented and advised clients in matters involving corporate and partnership disputes, fraud claims, contract disputes, construction defect, tax issues, fiduciary breaches, real estate litigation, securities litigation, and insurance bad faith claims.
Mr. Wohl has served as a pro tempore judge, arbitrator and referee for the Sacramento County Superior Court and for the El Dorado County Superior Court. Among other notable cases Mr. Wohl was lead counsel in the well-known reported Ninth Circuit case of Crummey v. Commissioner of IRS, 397 F. 2d 82. He also obtained a landmark victory in the area of “palimony” in the case of Watkins v. Watkins, 143 Cal. App. 3d 651.
Mr. Wohl obtained one of the largest lost profit jury verdicts in Sacramento County—$3.8 million—on behalf of a chain of bay area health clubs. In 2005 he and Robin Perkins successfully obtained a unanimous decision from the California Supreme Court in a landmark insurance bad faith case entitled O’Riordan v. Federal Kemper Life Assurance, 36 Cal.4th 281.
Professional Activities
Mr. Wohl was admitted to practice in California in 1964. He is licensed to practice before all California courts, the United States Supreme Court, Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States District Court, Eastern District of California. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the State Bar of California, the American Trial Lawyers Association, and the Sacramento County Bar Association. From 1979-1982 Mr. Wohl was a professor in the Master of Business Administration Tax Program at Golden Gate University.
