Practice Focus
Ms. McQuarrie has represented private, public and non-profit organizations, both domestic and foreign, in matters of labor, employment, real estate, business and commercial law. Her experience ranges from serving as in-house counsel to educational nonprofit organizations to representing corporate clients in litigation in state and federal courts. Ms. McQuarrie is seasoned in all aspects of civil litigation, including administrative proceedings, administrative trials, motion practice, discovery practice, depositions, court hearings, mediations and jury trials.
Practice History
Prior to joining Palmer Kazanjian Wohl Perkins, LLP in 2007, Ms. McQuarrie worked as in-house counsel and legislative advocate for the Charter Schools Development Center and CharterVoice, nonprofit organizations based in Sacramento that are devoted to the development and operation of charter schools. As legal counsel, Ms. McQuarrie focused on personnel, student and operational issues of charter schools. Her legal expertise took her to the Persian Gulf city of Doha, Qatar in 2004, where she consulted on a K-12 education reform initiative.
Ms. McQuarrie served as general counsel for St. HOPE Corporation/ St. HOPE Public Schools in Sacramento, where she managed litigation matters and advised on day-to-day operations issues for charter schools and non-profit organizations, including education law, non-profit organizational issues and employment law.
For six years, Ms McQuarrie focused on business, real estate, commercial and employment litigation while practicing as an independent contractor and a litigation associate for the Sacramento offices of Martensen & Wright, LLP and Pillsbury Winthrop, LLP. At Martensen, Ms. McQuarrie represented Danish corporate clients in commercial litigation in state and federal courts. At Pillsbury, she represented corporate clients litigating matters of commercial law, unfair competition, securities fraud, lender liability and employment law in state and federal courts.
Education
Ms. McQuarrie received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Nevada, Reno, in 1993. She graduated with Great Distinction (8th in a class of 256) from McGeorge School of Law, University of the Pacific, in 1997. She is a member of the Order of the Coif.

Personal
Ms. McQuarrie traveled solo on a five-month trip through Europe and the countries of Oman, Egypt, Jordan, Turkey, India, Nepal, Tibet and China. She has also traveled extensively in Central and South America. |
